Ratings do change. As we move from the 2016 product line into the 2017 product line our ranking systems will move around. With that said most reputable brands out there offer very good protection. Our advise to you is to download the trials and check the user interfaces out for yourself. You should try at least 2 or even 3 anti-virus clients out if you have time. Price does play a factor in our ranking system. Kaspersky for instance would of been rated number 1 but because of the higher cost we bumped it to number 2.

PROS: No false positives, and passed a wildlist scan with approximately 99%, similar to TrendMicro and Avira.
CONS: BitDefender’s performance issues and long scantimes are something to be aware of.
OVERVIEW: Bitdefender Antivirus Pro is a commercial security application designed to protect and remove any threats from your computer. Due to performance issues alone, I don’t recommend using this product.

TrendMicro Titanium Antivirus Plus 2011 Review
PROS: Detected virtually all threats in a wildlist scan, and didn’t cause any performance issues
CONS: Long scan times and a handful of false positives. This can cause major issues. Ensure you do a restore point before you remove any files.
OVERVIEW: TrendMicro Titanium Plus Antivirus 2017 is an antimalware scanner designed to remove and detect the latest threats that can compromise your system. During a wildlist scan, TrendMicro proved to be a valuable asset to security, but the user should be wary of false positives generated by the heuristics and slower scans if time is an issue.
