In the last few years, the future of work has changed permanently. In a survey conducted near the end of 2020, 72% of people were fully remote, with an extra 21% working at least part of the time remotely. Even with concerns about the pandemic beginning to relax, it’s predicted that more businesses will adopt a fully remote or hybrid work model when it comes to conducting business in the future.

In light of this, tools that help remote workers are more important now than ever. Thankfully, we’re living during the greatest period in technological history to be able to carry out a productive work-from-home experience successfully.

According to remote work surveys, 91% of remote workers use video conferencing software, 61% use instant messaging apps, and around 62% of workers utilize project management software of some type.

Remote desktop apps work by connecting your computer with another at a different location. This allows you to work on a distant computer as if sitting right at your client’s keyboard. That means you might be in the US, but you can access and work on a client’s computer in Australia.  It’s clear that remote desktop apps are perfect for remote workers who need access to the files and information that reside on a long-distant client or customer’s computer. 

Tools for Mental and Creative Enhancement

Working remotely can create a lot of benefits, but one significant downside is that brainstorming sessions are only possible with in-person interactions. That’s where mind-mapping tools are great for virtual collaborative brainstorming and project planning. In fact, mind maps can help you get an overview of everything happening in your life. Remote workers who use mind-mapping tools report that they experience more productivity and better efficiency.
